Tribute Poem by Andy R., Waterville

High on Sugarloaf, where mountains touch the stars.
June thirteenth arrived, healing all my hidden scars.
The 46th Round Up, Maine’s sacred, hallowed ground.
A fellowship of spirits, where love and hope are found.
In the King Pine Room, warm light welcomed every soul.
God’s grace was flowing, making broken hearts feel whole.
The Beach stretched wide, a haven ‘neath the summer sky,
His love surrounded us, the reason we don’t say goodbye.
Oh, Maine Round Up, you saved my soul again,
Trusted servants guided me through joy and deepest pain.
God is the reason we are all still here,
Forever grateful, your love so pure, so clear.
Narrow Gauge hummed with stories, raw and bravely told,
Speakers shared their journeys, their hearts of purest gold.
Decades danced in King Pine, ‘neath chandeliers so bright,
Laughter and forgiveness, bathed in God’s eternal light.
Al-Anon and Alateen, their courage hand in hand,
Together we’re rebuilding on this recovery land.
Hospitality Room glowed, where smiles warmed every face,
Trusted servants showed me God’s unending, tender grace.
Oh, Maine Round Up, you saved my soul again,
Trusted servants guided me through joy and deepest pain.
God is the reason we are all still here,
Forever grateful, your love so pure, so clear.
Widowmaker Room, where affirmations filled the air
Morning prayers and quiet moments, God was everywhere.
The keynote speakers’ words, like beacons in the storm
Lit the path to healing, where broken hearts transform
From the coffee pots at dawn to the evening’s warm embrace,
Every step at Sugarloaf was wrapped in holy grace.
June thirteenth to fifteenth, those days will never fade,
Maine’s 46th Round Up, a miracle God made.
Oh, Maine Round Up, you saved my soul again,
Trusted servants guided me through joy and deepest pain.
God is the reason we are all still here,
Forever grateful, your love so pure, so clear.
To the ones who planned this gathering, who prayed through every night,
PO Box in Waterville, you brought this holy light.
Volunteers with open hearts, who served with tireless care,
You stitched my shattered pieces, showed me God is always there.
From the registration desk to the banners hung with pride,
Every hand that lifted up this Round Up turned the tide.
My heart is full, it’s thankful, every morning, every day,
Sugarloaf’s love and God’s great mercy washed my fears away.
To the trusted servants, young and old, who answered Heaven’s call,
You’ve built a bridge to hope, helped me rise each time I fall.
The steps we walked together, twelve lights to lead us home,
In every shared confession, I never felt alone.
The music in King Pine, the Decades dance’s cheer,
Echoed through the mountains, with God’s voice drawing near.
Every hug, every tear, every story that was shared,
Built a chain of love and strength, showed me someone cared.
Maine’s Round Up wrapped my soul in a warm, eternal flame,
Through God’s love and trusted servants, I’ll never be the same.
Oh, Maine Round Up, you saved my soul again,
Trusted servants guided me through joy and deepest pain.
God is the reason we are all still here,
Forever grateful, your love so pure, so clear.
